Hopatcong High School Gives Next Year's Freshmen A Warm Welcome

Superintendent Cynthia Randina told eighth grade parents that the New Hopatcong offers academics, athletics, activities, arts, technology, and 'a family atmosphere found nowhere else.'

Eighth grade students at Hopatcong Middle School had a taste of the high school experience during an orientation session for incoming freshmen Thursday night at Hopatcong High School.

The main message from the event was one of welcome. Members of the HHS Marching Band, cheer squad, drama club and other school groups were on hand to explain their experience of what high school life is all about for an audience of eighth grade parents and students.

"They pulled out all the stops to give an accurate and realistic snapshot of the energy at the high school," said Superintendent of Schools Cynthia Randina. "Alumni were invited to attend and they shared their positive and memorable experiences at Hopatcong."

The orientation also covered new course offerings, the School-Within-A-School, athletic programs and extracurricular activities.

Randina's closing speech sought to seal the deal with the incoming freshman class, pointing out that the New Hopatcong "has the academics, the athletics, the activities, the arts, the technology, and the family atmosphere found nowhere else.

“Why would you choose to go somewhere else?”
