Hopatcong Schools Celebrates Honor for 2008 HHS Grad

Christopher Carroll is praised by HBS superintendent and Widener University for showing leadership in physical therapy.

Christopher Carroll of Hopatcong recently was awarded a 2013 Student Leadership Award from the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association, Hopatcong Borough Schools Superintendent Cynthia Randina has announced.

Carroll, who graduated from Hopatcong High in 2008 and Lock Haven University in 2012, is now a third-year physical therapy doctoral student at Widener University in Chester, Pa. He currently works at ActiveCare Physical Therapy in Succasunna. He was honored for showing leadership at Widener as president of its PT Class of 2014.

Randina said he has also earned notice for his work as a board member and volunteer for the university's student-led Chester Community Physical Therapy Clinic, which provides services for under- and uninsured area residents. Through his appearances at physical therapy conferences throughout the U.S., Carroll has helped inspire students at other colleges to begin their own clinics based on Widener's model.
