Sparta College Student Adds 'Teacher' to Her Title
Brianna Reigstad is one of 21 University of Scranton undergraduates getting their first crack at teaching young scholars.
It's been a big step forward for a young woman from Sparta.
Brianna Reigstad, a college student at the University of Scranton, is among 21 education majors spending the fall semester as a student teacher at 14 schools in nine Pennsylvania public school districts.
Reigstad, a senior studying early and primary education at the Jesuit university, and a Dean's List scholar, has been teaching at Kennedy Elementary School in the Scranton School District.

The teacher in training graduated in 2010 from Sparta's Pope John XXIII High School, where she excelled in basketball. She is the daughter of Sparta Township Police Chief Ernst Reigstad.
