Gertrude De Perna Dies at 91: Lived Nearly 5 Decades in Hopatcong
De Perna managed a home and raised a son during her 48 years in the borough.
Gertrude J De Perna, a longtime homemaker and Hopatcong resident, died Friday at Merry Heart Nursing Home in Succasunna, according to a notice on the website of Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home. She was 91 years old.
De Perna was born in New York City and lived in Brooklyn before moving to Hopatcong 48 years ago. She was a homemaker, an avid reader and studied nutrition.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Jim and Melissa De Perna of Randolph, grandchildren Jared and Ava De Perna, and sister and brother-in-law Gloria and Michael Fabrizio of Massapequa, L.I.

Funeral arrangements were managed by Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home in Succasunna. De Perna was entombed at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
