Jack Pezzicara, Formerly of Sparta, Dies at 71

Pezzicara died earlier this month in Florida.

Former Sparta resident Jack Pezzicara, 71, died Oct 11 at Lehigh Acres Hope Hospice in Fort Myers, Fla., The Progress reports.

Born in Montclair, the son of Bobbi and John Pezzicara, he was raised in Roseland. He attended Caldwell High School and Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y.

After graduating from college, he lived and raised his family for more than 20 years in Sparta, where he owned Century 21 Country Home Realty.

An avid golfer, he was a member of Lake Mohawk Country Club in Sparta before moving to Florida almost 20 years ago.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Carol; his two daughters, Amy Pezzicara of Tampa, Fla. and Leigh Pezzicara of Zurich, Switzerland; and a sister, Gail Bradley of Essex Fells.

A memorial service will take place Wednesday, Oct. 30, in Fort Myers.
