Changes to Hopatcong Fee Laws on the Way

Price to duplicate police videotape to change, more.

Changes look to be coming to Hopatcong's fee laws.

The mayor and council introduced an ordinance at last week's meeting altering the current law.

The new ordinance, which is up for adoption on May 18, would remove the section saying it costs $25 to view a videotape and change the cost of duplicate videotapes to the actual cost of the compact disc.

It would also add the following stipulations:

  • Accident reports would still be 10 cents per copy, except for accident report requests not made in person, making them 5 cents per letter size page and 7 cents per legal size page.
  • Also, if a state resident requests an accident report any other way than in person, the resident could be charged an addition fee up to $5 to cover administrative costs.
