Cops: Hopatcong Man Had Pot, Coke in his Car

Arrested after motor vehicle stop.

 A Hopatcong man was driving recklessly with a bag of cocaine and marijuana in the car on April 30, police said.

Alejandro Arias, 26, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving and other drug and traffic violations.

Police said after performing field sobriety tests on Arias, an officer saw a bag containing white powder in plain view in Arias' car. After Arias gave the officer permission to search his car, a bag containing marijuana fell out from drivers' side door when the officer opened it, police said.

The white powder in the other bag was determined to be cocaine after further investigation, police said.

Police also said Arias had a marijuana pipe in his pocket.

Arias was processed and released, police said.
