Cops: Hopatcong Woman Wanted for Stealing Credit Card From Boyfriend's Parents

Jennifer Nicholson, 26, has been charged with possession of marijuana, forgery, credit card theft and theft.

A $15,000 arrest warrant has been issued for a Hopatcong woman wanted for stealing a credit card from her boyfriend's parents and using it at numerous stores in the area, police said.

Jennifer Nicholson, 26, has been charged with possession of marijuana, third-degree forgery, fourth-degree credit card theft and theft.

According to Lt. Thomas Kmetz, a woman reported on June 9 that she believed her son's girlfriend had stolen her husband's credit card. Nicholson had been living with them at the time of the alleged theft.

Nicholson was located and a marijuana cigarette was found in her room, Kmetz said. Nicholson was arrested for the marijuana as well as a $1,000 outstanding warrant out of Bedminster and two $500 warrants from Roxbury, Kmetz said.

Nicholson denied using the credit card and still refused to cooperate when she was told surveillance videos would prove used the card, Kmetz said.

Nicholson's boyfriend bailed her out on the three outstanding warrants and she was released on the marijuana charge, Kmetz said.

After she was released, the officer obtained the security footage from the Liquor Factory in Hopatcong, Walmart in Flanders, Quck Chek in Hopatcong, ShopRite in Succasunna, McDonald's in Byram and Rite Aid in Hopatcong that all showed Nicholson using the card, Kmetz said.

Nicholson, however, has not been located and is no longer living with her boyfriend's parents, Kmetz said.

A $15,000 warrant has been issued for her arrest for the stolen credit card charges and a $500 warrant has been issued for failure to appear in court for the marijuana charge and a driving while suspended charge, Kmetz said.
