Cops: Man Drove Drunk & Too Slow

The following arrest information was supplied by the Hopatcong police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Dover man drove drunk and about 20 miles below the speed limit, police said.

Officer David Kraus was driving behind a vehicle when it started driving about 15 mph in Maxim Drive's 35-mph zone at about 3 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Kraus pulled the vehicle over, police said. The driver, 32-year-old Sianipar Halashon, had the smell of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, police said.

Halashon failed Kraus' field sobriety tests, police said. He was arrested and taken to the , where he gave breath samples, police said.

Halashon was charged with driving while intoxicated and released to a friend, police said.
