Cops: Officer Helps Woman Breathe After OD

The following arrest information was supplied by the Hopatcong police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Hopatcong officers had to help a Sparta woman breathe after she overdosed on heroin, police said.

Tara Fletcher, 25, was brought to the "unconscious, blue in the face and barely breathing," at about 2:30 a.m. Monday, Lieutenant Thomas Kmetz said.

So Officer Richard Sadowski administered rescue breathing with a bag valve mask connected to an oxygen bottle, police said. Fletcher regained consciousness when the Hopatcong ambulance squad gave her naloxone moments later, police said.
