Cops: 'Wizard' Threatened to Kill Officer

The following arrest information was supplied by the Hopatcong police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A man dressed as a wizard argued with staff at a Hopatcong bar and threatened to kill a police officer, police said.

An officer responded to a report of an unruly patron at around 11 p.m. on Oct. 28, police said. The officer found Louis Kieffer arguing with staff members, police said.

Kieffer wouldn't stop despite the officer's request, so the officer threatened to arrest him, police said. When Kieffer still wouldn't stop, the officer tried arresting him, but Kieffer resisted until he was placed into the back of a patrol car, police said.

When back at the station, Kieffer began growling like an animal, so he was put into a holding cell, police said. While in the cell, Kieffer told an officer he knew how to find and kill him, police said.

Kieffer was charged with making terroristic threats, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and obstruction. Kieffer was transported to the hospital after police discovered he had hit his head on the jail cell's door, police said.
