Cops: Woman Crashed Into Pole, Blood-Alcohol Was .21

The following arrest information was supplied by the Hopatcong police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Stanhope woman drove drunk and crashed into a utility pole, police said.

Kelly Giacomaro was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving on June 18.

Police said they responded to a report of a car accident on Sparta Road in Hopatcong. Giacomaro, police said, drove about 50 to 60 feet off-road before hitting a utility pole.

Giacomaro had minor injuries and refused to be taken to the hospital, police said. A breath test revealed Giacomaro's blood-alcohol content was .21, or more than double the legal limit.

Giacomaro was released to her parents, police said.
