Cops: Woman Had Heroin, Resisted Arrest

The following arrest information was supplied by the Hopatcong police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Hopatcong woman had heroin and prescription drugs in her purse and tried pulling away from during her arrest, police said.

Officers Meghan Antonello and Michael O'Shea went to St. Lo Place to arrest Ashley Youssef, 23, on a $1,500 warrant out of Dunellen on Feb. 24, police said. As O'Shea approached the back door, he saw Youssef injecting what he believed to be heroin in her arm, police said. When he knocked on the door, Yousself put the needle into her pocketbook, police said.

Youseff continually pulled away from the officers during her arrest, police said. Inside her purse the officers found folds of heroin and hypodermic needles, police said. Liquid morphine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, suboxone and Ambien in prescription bottles, police said. One of the bottles was in another person's name, and the label had been torn off one of the other bottles, police said.

Yousesef was charged with six counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic syringe, resisting arrest, discarding a hypodermic needle and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.

Youseff was taken to Sussex County Jail en lieu of $10,000 bail, police said.
