Downed Trees Close Several Sparta Roads

Residents are also experiencing power outages throughout the township Monday night.

Sparta Police said as of 6 p.m., several roads are closed throughout the township from downed trees as Hurricane Sandy continues to impact the area on Monday night.

The following roads are closed, according to a release from Sgt. John Paul Beebe:

  • Stanhope Road at the intersection of Green Apple Road
  • The #100 Block of Alpine Trail
  • Route 94 is partially blocked by the Sussex Technical School.

A tree fell on a house on Summit Trail in Lake Mohawk, which also closed the road, according to Beebe.
