Driver Killed, Lake Hopatcong Man Hurt in I-80 Crash

West Milford woman died early Sunday morning when her SUV hit sound barrier, State Police said.

The driver of an SUV was killed early Sunday when she veered off Interstate 80 and crashed into a sound barrier on the side of the highway in Parsippany, according to State Police Sgt. Adam Grossman.

Police identified the driver as 30-year-old Jennifer Wyatt of West Milford.

A passenger, David Olsen, of Lake Hopatcong, was transported to Morristown Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Olsen was engaged to Wyatt and was planning on getting married this spring, according to an article on NJ.com.

The article says Wyatt was working as a director of the Building Blocks child care program at Chilton Hospital in Pompton Plains. Wyatt's father, Wayne, said she loved kids and was looking forward to having some of her own.

Wyatt was travelling westbound on I-80 through Parsippany when she drove her Chevy Trailblazer off the side of the road and collided with a sound barrier at about 12:45 a.m., police said. It was not immediately known what caused the accident.

The accident was still under investigation later Sunday morning.
