Drunken Man Resists Arrest After Dispute at Tulsa Trail Home, Police Say

Jason Slater, 29, of Hopatcong, has been accused of pulling away from officers who were trying to place him under arrest.

A Hopatcong man is facing a resisting arrest charge following a reported dispute at a Tulsa Trail home early Saturday morning, police said.

Jason Slater, 29, was charged with resisting arrest after officers found him "intoxicated" at a Tulsa Trail residence at about 4:20 a.m. Saturday, Lt. Thomas Kmetz said.

Kmetz said the officers tried several times to place handcuffs on Slater, who resisted and attempted to pull away. The officers eventually secured the handcuffs and led a "yelling and screaming" Slater to a patrol car.

When he reached police headquarters, Slater calmed down and complained of pain to his arm and asked to go to the hospital, Kmetz said. The Hopatcong Ambulance Squad took him to St. Clare’s Dover, according to the Kmetz, who said Slater was later charged and served his charges by officers of the Dover Police Department while he was in the hospital.
