Murder Scene Photos Shown at Tedesco Trial

In the second week of Giuseppe Tedesco's murder trial, photos of bullets found in Alyssa Ruggieri's body are presented to the jury.

Graphic photos from the crime scene where borough resident Alyssa Ruggieri was fatally shot in 2010 were shown at the trial of accused murderer Giuseppe Tedesco on Wednesday, according to the New Jersey Herald

In the second week of the murderl trial, the State Police Crime Scene Unit told the jury that five bullets were pulled out of Ruggieri's body, including three that were found in her skull, the NJ Herald reports.

Ruggieri was shot six times by a .25 caliber Baretta gun owned by Tedesco. The sixth bullet was found on the floor near Ruggieri in her Durban Avenue home.

Detective Sgt. Rita Gallo said in court Wednesday that the bullets were removed during the autopsy performed on Ruggieri, and that the evidence proves that the gunshots were fired at a close range, according to the New Jersey Herald.

Earlier in court this week, friends of Tedesco testified and said that during a night out in New York, Tedesco got "very drunk" and proclaimed his love for Ruggieri, and made threats about Ruggieri dating other people, according to the New Jersey Herald. Ruggieri was dating a Livingston man at the time she was killed, the report said.

Last week in court, both Tedesco's and Ruggieri's mothers testified, saying that the night Ruggieri was murdered on March 27, 2010, they were at seperate family gatherings, the New Jersey Herald Reports.

Tedesco had , but she denied to do so. Tedesco then drove to Ruggieri's Durban Avenue home when she refused to go out with him, and shot her six times, Sussex County Assistant Prosecutor Seana Pappas said at an earlier court date.

Also taking the stand last week was a witnesss, Hopatcong resident Lisa Parisi, who said Tedesco looked terrified running from Ruggieri's home the night she was shot to death, the New Jersey Herald reports

In the first day of the trial last week, Tedesco claimed self-defense.  when he shot and killed Ruggieri after she refused to celebrate his birthday with him, but the proseuctor said any self-defense claims were "proposterous."

The trial schedule runs through December, except Mondays and Fridays, and dates blocked out by Superior Court Judge N. Peter Conforti’s other court duties and other contingencies.

Tedesco is being held in the Sussex County jail on $1 million bail.
