Have You Seen This Truck? Pickup Getaway Vehicle in Hopatcong Burglary

The man driving a red Ford pickup truck tried to break into a Hopatcong home Tuesday while the resident was asleep.

Hopatcong Police are asking the public for information on a red extended-cab pickup truck that was allegedly the getaway vehicle for a man who tried to break into a home near the Columbia Trail-Brooklyn Mountain Road area around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A homeowner in that area was sleeping, police said, and thought he heard someone knock at the door. When he went to look at the front door, he didn't find anyone. The homeowner heard a noise at the back door and confronted a while male who was trying to break into his home. 

The alleged interloper fled in red Ford F250 or F350 extended cab pickup truck, the homeowner told police.

Anyone who lives in any of the side streets off Brooklyn Mountain Road, Columbia Trail, or Temple Trail who may have seen this truck is asked to call the Hopatcong Police Department at 973-398-5000.
