Haven’t heard much from the Unicorn Army lately. Here we are just the middle of January and already we’ve seen several violent crimes in town. HPD is doing a great job but this town has become an incubator for home grown criminals. You can put your heads in the sand but the problem is not going away. No excuses, no hugs, please lock these criminals away until they can no longer reproduce!

STATE PARK January 16, 2014 at 09:04 AM
Funny the town thinks buy putting all the crime in the newspaper is going to get the families of these to stop doing what there doing only thing is the parents are doing the same thing and it is making our town worthless to people looking to buy homes. GREAT JOB
Jessica January 16, 2014 at 10:14 AM
arrests are public records State Park. You can't sweep it under the rug and make something look perfect when it's not. What it is doing is making the community aware that there is a problem so we know to look out for it. Why would you rather be un-aware and then get blindsided by crime? I would rather know that a situation is unsafe so I can take proper precautions.
Clay Thomas January 16, 2014 at 11:56 AM
Jessica is absolutely correct, an arrest becomes public information as well as the outcome of subsequent legal proceedings. We have the right to know and we should know. If it impacts home values, so be it. Of greater importance is the reputation of the school system, real estate taxes, town services, etc. The HPD does a great job and the perps will be apprehended. Hopefully the courts will do their job as well.
Frank forkman January 16, 2014 at 12:08 PM
Are apprehended already . Told you before . It's on line .
