A fire ripped through a Brooklyn-Stanhope Road home Sunday night. No injuries were reported, fire officials said.
Hopatcong Fire Chief Mike Rahill said the cause of the fire hadn't been determined and borough police would investigate Monday morning.
The house was empty when the emergency services responded, Rahill said. He also said two dogs were rescued and a Stanhope firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion.

Hopatcong, Roxbury, Stanhope and Byram fire departments responded to the blaze at 6:31 p.m., Rahill said. He also said firefighters needed about an hour to control the fire and another hour to secure the home, which sits across from the
Rahill said the house's structure posed a problem for first-responders.

"The walls are kind of hollow and the fire can travel from downstairs to the upstairs," he said. "The old houses are—the wood's very dry."
