Hopatcong Man Killed When Tree Falls Into House

High winds knocked down large tree Thursday afternoon on Maxim Drive.

A Hopatcong man was killed Thursday when a large tree fell through his Maxim Drive home, police said.

The wind gusts of more than 30 miles per hour caused the tree to fall on the two-story structure as well as the home next door shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday, according to the New Jersey Herald.

The man, who was believed to be in his 60s, was not immediately identified.
