Brett Kelly, who pleaded guilty to the charges, must also spend two years on probation and pay over $3,000 in fines.

A local man who pled guilty in November to charges of heroin possession and driving while intoxicated will lose his driver's license for 10 years, spend two years on probation and pay $3.368 in court fines and fees, according to Sussex County Prosecutor David J. Weaver.

Brett Kelly, 30, of Hopatcong, heard his sentence delivered by Superior Court Judge Thomas J. Critchley at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on Dec. 6, 2013.

A year ago, Kelly was involved in a motor vehicle accident and was found by Hopatcong Borough Police to be in possession of 15 folds of heroin, according to a prosecutor's office statement.
