Hopatcong Man Pleads Guilty to Resisting Arrest

Officer was injured after chasing after Dylan Tallaksen, prosecutor says.

A Hopatcong man who was charged with resisting arrest after a dispute pleaded guilty to the charges at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on Aug. 26, according to Sussex County Prosecutor David Weaver's Office.

Dylan Tallaksen, 21, pleaded guilty to fourth degree resisting arrest by flight and is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 18.

Tallaksen was arrested in June 2011 and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of weapon with unlawful purpose.

The prosecutor's office said police officers responded to a dispute and found Tallaksen to have a warrant out for his arrest. As officers tried to put him in handcuffs, Tallaksen ran, according to a press release.

One officer injured his leg and ripped his shirt in the chase. Officers eventually caught up with Tallaksen, but he still would not comply, according to the prosecutor's office.
