Hopatcong Murder Trial Expected to Begin in Mid-October

Assistant prosecutor reportedly said trial could last until late December.

Opening arguments in the trial of accused killer Giuseppe Tedesco may not begin until about a month after jury selection began in Sussex County Superior Court, according to a report.

Sussex County Assistant Prosecutor Seana Pappas said the trial may not begin until the middle of October, with it expected to last until late December, according to a report by The Star-Ledger.

Tedesco is charged with murder, illegal possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose .

The allegations were placed on the record during a January pre-trial conference hearing during which Tedesco formally rejected the state’s plea offer of a 30 year prison sentence on the murder charge.
