Postponed Again: Hearing for Hopatcong Couple Charged with Theft
Former Hopatcong Hawks president and treasurer are charged with stealing $20,000 from club for Disneyland trip.
A status conference for a Hopatcong couple charged with stealing $20,000 from a borough youth soccer league has been moved to July 11.
The hearing was scheduled for Wednesday before Superior County Judge Peter Conforti in the Sussex County County Courthouse in Newton.
That court date was a delay from Monday when the conference was originally scheduled.

Stacey Siegel and Matt Simon each were charged in January 2011 with theft and conspiracy to commit theft for taking the funds from an account of the Hopatcong Hawks soccer club to .
Hopatcong police said the alleged thefts occurred between September 2009 and October 2010.

Siegal was the club’s treasurer and Simon was the soccer club’s president.
The pair rejected a plea deal last September that would have had each of them serve a 45 day jail sentence, probation and return the stolen funds.
