Front Door Pried Open in Brooklyn Mountain Road Burglary

Jewelry and cash stolen in Friday morning break-in.

Jewelry and cash were stolen Friday morning from a Brooklyn Mountain Road home that had its front door pried open, Hopatcong Police said.

Lt. Thomas Kmetz said a woman left her home to go to work at 6:30 a.m. Friday. Two hours later, she returned to find her front door had been pried open, Kmetz said.

An undisclosed amount of jewelry and cash were missing from the bedroom, police said.

Kmetz is asking anyone who may have been driving in the area of Brooklyn Mountain Road near Holiday Drive and seen "a suspicious vehicle or person" to contact Hopatcong Police at 973-398-5000.
