Human Remains Found in Roxbury Off Route 46

Roxbury police and the Morris County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the discovery of remains found in wooded area.

Police are investigating a wooded area in Roxbury Township, where human remains were discovered Wednesday.

Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Roxbury Police Chief James Simonetti announced the grisly discovery, saying the remains were found in an area off Route 46 and Hercules Road.

Roxbury police, the Morris County Sheriff's Office and the Morris County Mobile Command Center had set up a post at the crime scene, according to an NJ.com report.

No details were issued, and authorities said the matter is still under investigation.
