ID of Man Killed in Netcong Fire Confirmed

Morris County Prosecutor's office releases details Wednesday.

The man killed in a three-story Netcong house fire with his dog, Spike, has been identified, Morris County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Jeffrey S. Paul said in a release Wednesday.

Vincent D. Regan, 77, was found on the second floor of the blaze, which took several hours and more than 100 firefighters to extinguish. The fire, which started near cardboard boxes in Regan's 10 Main Street bedroom, isn't considered suspicious, the prosecutor's office said.

Flames heavily damaged the home's second and third floors, and also tore through the roof.
