Masked Gunman Wanted for Dairy Queen Robbery

State Police release photo of man who robbed a Montague Township DQ and assaulted one of the employees.

A masked gunman is wanted for robbing a Sussex County Dairy Queen and a hotel in New York last week.

The New Jersey State Police Sussex Station released on Wednesday a photo from a surveillance video of the man who robbed a Dairy Queen in Montague Township at about 10:30 p.m. Friday.

The man was wearing a red mask depicting a horned devil, a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, black baggy sweatpants and gray cloth gloves with rubber palms, State Police said.

The man entered the Dairy Queen brandishing a handgun and demanded money, State Police said. The man struck an employee in the forearm before fleeing the scene, State Police said.

The man is believed to also be responsible for a similar armed robbery that same day at the Days Inn in Deer Park, N.Y.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the NJSP Sussex Station Detective Bureau at 973-383-1514.
