Cops: Woman Attempted Escape From Police Station

The following arrest information was supplied by the Hopatcong police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A woman slipped off her handcuff and tried escaping from the Hopatcong police department before an officer tackled her and put her in a holding cell, police said.

An officer responded to Jennifer Lash's home intending to arrest her on an outstanding warrant for a charge of simple assault in Somerville, police said.

Lash struggled with officers when they tried arresting her on the warrant, police said. Then at the police station, Lash, who was secured to a bench, pulled her left wrist from her handcuff, raced out of the patrol room, down the hallway and toward the front door, police said.
