Nicholas Sullivan, 25, and Eric O'Connell, 24, both of Hopatcong, were arrested on Aug. 28 on trespass and resisting arrest charges. The charges were not released until Thursday due to the ongoing investigation, Lt. Thomas Kmetz said.
According to Kmetz, an officer saw three men outside a Northwestern Way home and one of the men covered his face as the officer drove by. The officer turned around, but when he got back to the home, the men were gone, Kmetz said.
The officer recognized Sullivan and O'Connell and saw them running from the home and ordered them to stop, Kmetz said. After the two split up, the officer caught up to Sullivan and O'Connell was later arrested at his home, Kmetz said.
O'Connell and Sullivan refused to identify the third man, according to Kmetz, who added that both men were later released.
