Police: Drunk Driver Almost Hit Cars on Lakeside

The following arrest information was supplied by the Hopatcong police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A woman, driving drunk, almost crashed into a row of cars on Lakeside Boulevard, police said.

Cheryl Foster of Netcong first stopped her Jeep at a green light at the intersection of River Styx and Hopatchung roads around 1 a.m. on Oct. 8, police said. Then she made a left on Hopatchung Road, let her car drift from the double yellow lines to the white fog line and then nearly hit cars parked on the side of Lakeside Boulevard before jerking back into her lane, police said.

Foster told police she didn't have anything to drink, police said. But after failing field sobriety tests, a breath test revealed Foster had a .1 blood-alcohol content, or .02 percent over the legal limit, police said.
