Police: Hopatcong Man Wanted After Eluding Officers on High-Speed Chase

Robert Walthour, 25, led officers on chase Tuesday that exceeded 75 miles per hour down Lakeside Boulevard, police said.

A 25-year-old Hopatcong man is wanted for leading officers on a high-speed chase and other offenses Tuesday, police said.

Robert Walthour smashed items in his home during a dispute on Tuesday before leading two officers on a high-speed chase down Lakeside Boulevard to Old Lakeside Boulevard, Lt. Thomas Kmetz said.

The chase exceeded 75 miles per hour and officers called it off due to traffic and the amount of people around, Kmetz said.

Walthour was driving a black four-door 2013 Honda Civic with New Jersey license plates M52DWJ.

Walthour no longer has the facial hair he did in the photo released by police. He also has a crew cut or nearly shaven head.

Walthour is considered dangerous. Police advise calling 911 or the Hopatcong Police Department at 973-398-5000.
