Police: Man Drove Drunk into Yard

The following arrest information was supplied by the Hopatcong police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Secaucus man drove drunk into the front yard of a Hopatcong woman's home, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a car in a yard on Rapalyea Road around 1 a.m. Nov. 20, police said. A man and a woman were trying to push the car out of the yard, but it was stuck, police said.

The driver, Javier Escobar, said he was following his GPS home from Totowa and it had led him off the road, police said. He admitted he had been drinking earlier in the night, and he failed field sobriety tests, police said.
