Police: Multiple Juvenile Drinking Arrests over Weekend

The following arrest information was supplied by the Hopatcong police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Hopatcong police made arrests on charges of underage possession of alcohol in two separate incidents over the weekend.

  • An officer saw three juveniles walking at the intersection of Rollins and Larsen trails past 10 p.m. on Oct. 30, police said. Two of the juveniles smelled like an alcoholic beverage, police said. All three were transported to the Hopatcong police department, police said, and two of the juveniles were charged with underage drinking. The other was charged with violating the borough's curfew, which states minors can't roam streets without guardians from 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. from the day after Labor Day until May 30. Each of the juveniles was released to their parents, police said.
  • Officers responded to a report of a loud juvenile party near midnight on Oct. 28, police said. Several people ran when police arrived, police said. Six juveniles were charged with underage drinking. One of the juveniles was also charged with providing alcohol to minors. All juveniles were processed and released to adults, police said.
