Police: Sparta Man Had 2 Pot Pipes

The following arrest information was supplied by the Hopatcong police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Sparta man had two pot pipes and smelled like marijuana, police said.

Colter Myers, 18, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said two men told an officer another man appeared to be sleeping on a set of steps nearby Hopatcong Street and Lakeside Avenue. The man was identified as Colter, and his breath smelled like alcohol and his clothes smelled like burned marijuana, police said.

Police said a search revealed a glass marijuana pipe in Colter's front left pocket. Police said the pipe had burned residue inside it that smelled like marijuana. After arresting Colter, he asked the officer to retrieve his bag, police said. Inside the bag was another marijuana pipe with burned residue inside it that smelled like marijuana, police said.

Myers was processed and released, police said.
