Power Outage Sparks Hopatcong Kitchen Fire

A pot on the stove of an Adelphi Trail home caught fire when the electricity returned.

A pot that was left on a stove during a power outage caught fire when the electricity returned the next day, Hopatcong Police said.

The Adelphi Trail home's stove and kitchen wall was damaged from the fire and smoke, Lt. Thomas Kmetz said. There were no injuries in the Sept. 13 incident.

The fire department extinguished the blaze.
