Woman Severely Injured in 'Suspicious' Sparta Home Fire, Cops Say

Fox Trail blaze house 'gutted' by fast-moving fire Thursday night; neighbors report hearing 'explosion,' police said.

One woman was severely injured, with burns to her head, face and arms, as a result of a "suspicious" house fire Thursday night, requiring helicopter transportation to Morristown Medical Center, Sparta Sgt. John-Paul Beebe said.

The interior of a Fox Trail home was gutted by a quick-moving fire, Beebe said. By the time rescue workers responded to the scene, just after 7 p.m., the home was completely engulfed in flames, Beebe said. It took approximately 30 minutes for the fire to be knocked down.

Upon arrival, Lindsay Kiensicki, 26, was standing at the end of the driveway and badly burned on her head, face and torso, Beebe said.

She was taken by ambulance to a landing zone at the Rt. 517 bypass and flown to Morristown Medical Center, Beebe said. Her current condition is unknown.

Kiensicki lives at home with her parents, Robert and Lois, who were not home at the time, Beebe said.

Police originally responded to the area after residents reported hearing a loud explosion on their road, Beebe said.

The fire is being deemed suspicious and police and fire marshals are currently investigating.
