Tedesco to Challenge State on Jailhouse Informant
Hopatcong man charged with the 2010 murder of a borough woman will be in court Tuesday.
Giuseppe Tedesco will be back in court Tuesday.
The attorney of the Hopatcong man charged with murdering a borough woman will "challenge the State’s failure to provide discovery regarding a jailhouse informant," according to an email from the office of Nutley-based attorney Anthony Iacullo. The hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at the Sussex County Courthouse.
Discovery is a legal term often used to describe evidence.

Tedesco was charged with the 2010 murder of Alyssa Ruggieri. Tedesco shot Ruggieri six times at her Durban Avenue home after Ruggieri refused to meet Tedesco, , Sussex County Assistant Prosecutor Seana Pappas said on Jan. 23.
Tedesco, being held at Sussex County Jail en lieu of $1 million bail, faces life in jail if convicted.

Tedesco has also previously rejected the state’s plea offer of 30 years in jail. Judge Peter Conforti set a June 5 trial date. Tedesco is expected to claim self-defense.
