Trio of Vehicles Damaged; Police Asking For Help

Authorities said incidents happened in neighborhood late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

The is asking residents for their help regarding a series of incidents they say left three vehicles damaged in the area of Temple, Jefferson and Columbia Trail.

Police said they found a brick through the window a car parked on the side of Temple Trail when they responded to a report on Wednesday morning. Around the corner from the car, police said they found bricks in a yard on Columbia Trail that matched the one thrown through the window. The bricks were being used to put in pavers at the residence, police said.

The owner of the Columbia Trail home’s vehicle, which was parked across the street, was found to have damage to the driver's side door and window from a brick, police said.

Police said they also found a minivan with a broken window on Jefferson Trail, damaged by a two-inch rock.

Police ask anyone with information to call 973-398-5000. They estimate that the incidents took place between 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday and 5:24 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police ask that if residents hear a suspicious noise to look out their window and report anything or anyone that appears suspicious. Police said a resident near the incidents told them she heard glass breaking at 1 a.m., but did not look outside or call the police.
