$73M I-80 Roadwork Expected to be Complete in 2015

Complete restructuring of ramps to Route 287 began in 2012.

That headache of a traffic mess connecting Route 80 and Route 287 in Parsippany you can’t stand?

It just got some cash along with a completion date of 2015.

The remainder of $73 million has been allocated to completing the project in fiscal year 2015, as announced by the New Jersey Department of Transportation. The money for the Route 80-Route 287 interchange project is part of a $3.7 billion program to repair roads and bridges across the state.

The project was first announced by the DOT in Aug. 2012.

The work is designed to rehabilitate and improve Route 80 between the Route 202 interchange and Beverwyck Road interchange, along with reconfiguring the eastbound exit ramp to both north and south lanes of Route 287.

The DOT says an estimated 159,000 vehicles travel that section of Route 80 daily.
