Borough Council to Discuss Human Trafficking

The governing body holds its regular meeting Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Hopatcong Borough Council gathers for its regular Mayor/Council meeting Wednesday at the municipal building, and high on its agenda is a resolution addressing the phenomenon of human trafficking.

Among the consent agenda of resolutions to be considered by the governing body is one that, if passed, will clear the way to designate Jan. 11 each year as National Day of Human Trafficking Awareness in Hopatcong.

Also, the council's meeting agenda includes a discussion of 2013 Best Practices. And the council will consider a motion to approve the Knights of Columbus' request to hold a fund drive on Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to noon on Hopatchung Road.

The meeting takes place Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Borough Hall on River Styx Road. Residents are welcome to attend and to offer input during the meeting's public portion.
