Face Time: Dem. Hopeful Puts Mug on Car

Write-in candidate John Pezzino takes early—and different—advertising approach.

John Pezzino doesn't just want you to know his name. He wants you to know his face, too.

A Democratic write-in council candidate, Pezzino slapped a red, white and blue decal on the side of his car. It reads "Hopatcong Council Candidate John Pezzino" and features upward-turned mug. The advertisement doesn't, however, mention the word "Democratic."

Pezzino attended Wednesday's board of health meeting at the , but left before Patch could ask him about the peculiar advertising. Most local elections feature signs or banners donning candidate names, usually crop up on lawns or street corners just weeks before voters hit the polls.

Pezzino was written in on the Democratic ballot along with resident Mara Modes. The pair will square off against Republican incumbents Richard Bunce and Marie Galate for two open council seats in November. in the Republican primaries in June.
