Hopatcong Democratic Club Hopes to Reach Out to Community
President Jerry Burger says club must connect with borough residents.
More than a few times at the Hopatcong Democratic Club meeting Monday night at the Civic Center you could hear the call to arms for new blood.
So the club made tentative plans to host a "Meet the Candidates" night at the Civic Center on Oct. 18. President Jerry Burger said members of all parties would be allowed to attend.
Burger said reaching out to the borough's senior citizens would be high on the club's priority list.

"It doesn't matter if they are Democrats, Republicans, Tea Party or whatever," he said. "We have to reach out to them."
Democratic Club Municipal Chairman Pat Gleason made an appeal to the town's residents.

"There are no closed doors at our meetings, ever," Gleason said.
