Hopatcong, Sparta Students Help Kick Off 'Skylands March for Babies' Friday

Join the students for an evening of song and art, all to benefit the March of Dimes.

Gifted students and musicians from Hopatcong and Sparta will be performing at the Sussex County Performing Arts Center at SCCC this week to kick off the 2014 Skylands March for Babies walk campaign.

This concert, to be held on Friday, is organized by event chair Elena Zelenia, owner of the Biryukov Academy of Art and Music in Sparta and supported by parents of the Academy.

This evening of music and art will highlight the music of Elton John. The artwork of professional and student artists will be on display in the atrium of the Performing Arts Center, where select pieces will be for sale to the public.

Additional contributors to the event include Sparta High School Orchestra Club, Ballet Barre, St Michael’s School, Reverend Brown School, Mt. View Elementary School, Mt. Olive School District, Talent Academy of Rockaway, SCCC and NJIT.

The concert will be at the Sussex County Performing Arts Center at Sussex County Community College from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are $12 ($10 for students and seniors) and can be purchased online at www.sussex.edu or at the box office.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the March of Dimes.
