Hopatcong Residents To Beat Feet For Charity

Three charity walks set for May 18 and 19.

There will be a lot of walking for charity in Hopatcong the weekend of May 18 and 19.

Three charity events are scheduled in the borough : The Relay for Life, the Seventh Annual Hudson Guild Charity Walk and the Walk for Hunger sponsored by the Association of Churches of Hopatcong.

School board president Clifford Lundin said Monday that Hopatcong High School will host the Cancer Society’s  Relay for Life.

He urged his fellow board members to agree to participate so the board would have a better showing thaN the Hopatcong Borough Council.

The Relay for Life will be held May 18 and 19 beginning at 4 p.m. May 18.

According to the event’s website 24 teams have already signed up and 117 participants have pledged $9,358.

The Hopatcong Spring Charity Hike will be held at the Hudson Guild Farm, Stanhope-Sparta Road on May 18.

The start time is between 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. For more information, call Jacki at (973) 770-4997.

The annual Hunger Walk sponsored by the Association of Churches of Lake Hopatcong will be held May 19.
