Hopatcong High School Institutes New Tool for College Hopefuls

Good news for local teens: The area high school offers new software to enhance the college application experience.

The days of wondering when colleges/universities would receive students’ college applications are over, for local teens. Hopatcong Borough Schools Superitendent of School Cynthia Randina is announcing the implementation of Naviance, a college application software system that will be used by the high school Guidance Department.

Naviance offers cutting-edge technology for students to explore colleges, careers, send applications, apply for scholarships, create resumes and more, said Guidance Department Director Gina Cinotti. The software also features components for parents and counselors, creating opportunities for comprehensive communication during the college application process.

Cinotti said Naviance tracks each piece of the process electronically for all stakeholders to see, allowing counselors, parents, students and colleges to monitor what they are doing. And the process is reportedly speedy: A district statement indicates the software transmits documents in fewer than 48 hours.

Randina said Naviance is a tool that shows Hopatcong High School is committed to excellence in education and providing the personalized services students need to make sure they are ready for college and careers.
