School Openings Delayed Due to Frigid Temperatures
Officials hope a later opening time will give temperatures a chance to rise a bit before children take to the streets.
The extreme cold and wind barreling through the area means a later start of the school day in Hopatcong Borough and Sparta Township.
Both school district websites report that each municipality's schools will operate with a 90-minute delayed opening Tuesday.
The Hopatcong Borough Schools also announced that school buses will arrive 90 minutes after their regularly scheduled pickup time.
