Sparta Resident Inducted Into College Philosophy Honor Society

Matthew Boffa was recently honored at Misericordia University.

A Sparta resident was among seven students inducted into the Department of Philosophy at Misericordia University's Phi Sigma Tau, the International Honor Society in Philosophy.

Matthew Boffa was recently inducted into Phi Sigma Tau, which has more than 200 chapters in the United States and Canada. Its purpose is to encourage interest and activity among students and to promote ties between philosophy departments at accredited institutions of higher education, according to phi-sigma-tau.org.

At Misericordia University, philosophy majors and minors are eligible for induction into Phi Sigma Tau after completing nine credit hours of study while maintaining a 3.0 or higher grade point average and being in the top 35 percent of their class.
