Sparta Student Wins Scholarship to Cornell College
Sydney Thatcher was accepted to the Mount Vernon, Iowa school.
Sydney Thatcher of Sparta has been accepted to Cornell College, a private liberal arts college in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Sydney has also earned the school's Presidential Scholarship.
In 2013, Cornell College was named one of the 20 "Best Buys" in higher education by the "Fiske Guide to Colleges," and one of the 100 best values in liberal arts education by Kiplinger's. It has also been called a "Great School at a Great Price" by U.S. News and World Report.
