Former Police Officer Starts Graphic Design Business

Andrew Diamond started Diamond Graphixx in September.

Starting one's own business, especially during trying economic times, is anything but easy. For many proprietors, risks are high, rewards seemingly few. Still, many men and women take on the challenge, and with persistence, some achieve longstanding success.

One of those brave souls is Hopatcong resident Andrew Diamond, who said he wanted to try his hand at running his own business to secure his future after retiring as a police officer. He opted to take the economical route, running an embroidery and screen printing enterprise from his home—and on Sept. 1, Diamond Graphixx was born.

The newly minted entrepreneur was kind enough to answer Patch's business survey and shows his is a small business to watch for Small Business Saturday and beyond.
